In the Name of God Amen I William Beale of Southampton County and State of Virginia being of sound mind & memory body, but calling to mind the uncertainty of this life, do make constitute & ordain this my Last Will and Testament -- First I recommend my Soul to my blessed redeemer and my body to the dust until the general resurrection; and all my worldly estate I dispose of in manner and form following -- First: I desire all my just bebts to be paid; and the residue of my estate I give and bequeath as follows -- Item: I give and devise and bequeath to my son Jordon Beale his heirs and assigns forever by giving his brothers and sisters sixty dollars; the whole of two tracks of land I purchased of Henry Briggs and Edmund Johnson containing my estimation three hundred and forty acres be the Same more or less also I get my sd son Jordan one feather bed and furniture and one cow and calf -- Item: I give a bequeath onto my son Lemuel Beale his heirs and assigns forever the plantation and lands were on on their live with some exception which I shall hereafter make also I give unto sd son Samual one feather bed and furniture & one cow and calf -- Item: I give unto my daughter Sally Joyner one feather bed and furniture and spinning wheel, one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever Item: I give unto my daughter Peggy Beale one feather bed and furniture one spinning wheel, one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever Item: I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Beale one feather bed and furniture one spinning wheel, one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever I lend unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Beale the plantation whereon we now live during her widowhood or natural life and my Daughter to live with her as long as they continue unmarried; Should my wife marry I desire a division to be made, and for her to have one third of the plantation and lands whereon on I now live -- I lend unto my daughter unmarried the large dwelling house one third of my orchard whereon I now live and the use of my still, to still there on drink and a certain piece of convenient grounds for them to tent on the plantation whereon I now live, which they are to enjoy as long as they continued unmarried -- Item: I give to my son Lemuel one horse and saddle and are given to him and his heirs forever -- Item: I give to my loved wife Elizabeth Beale all the remainder of my estate, as long as she continues my widow but should she marry, or after her marriage or decease I desire and give unto Phereby Bryant twenty dollars also I give unto my sᵈ Dayghter Sally Joyner twenty Dollars.
